BCR persue Thomas Savin in the Courts of Chancery for return of £20,500 advance. G.M. Morris of Plowden is appointed contractor
Stretford Bridge to Bishop’s Castle line complete Montgomery extension to be started.

Opening ceremony, Board Of Trade refuses permission to open after unsatisfactory inspection.
1866 Board Of Trade finally gives permission for railway to open – BCR goes into receivership
